I reshaped the back of the neck. The above is one of the recent issue (Chinese) Jagmasters with the short-scale neck. Although I love C-section profiles, the neck felt like a tree trunk between the 1st and 5th fret so I took some sandpaper to it. Wasn't much I could do about the neck's depth as they've set the trusrod low (plus it's nut-end adjusted), but I took the sides in a little and it's made a huge difference.
The neck still feels chunky, but in a good way now. Surprisingly easy to do, too (oil-finishing maple is a doddle)!
