Difference hotRail and Seymour jb jr

Whats the sounddifference between the Seymour Hot Rail and jb jr ?

Different output? I need a pickup who can deliver sound from my Big Muff,Fuzz etc

They're different pickups made by different manufacturers for a different sound.

Do no other pickups deliver sound from your Big Muff? That's strange.

You know i really enjoy helping people but there must be a million threads on this already, JUST BROWSE THROUGH THE TOPICS.

If you can't be bothered..

1/ All pickups sound similar through a Big Muff. It has NO transparent qualities, it would make zero difference if you use Filtertrons or EMG's.

2/ Hot Rails and the JB Jr are also similar, the Rails are slightly higher output i believe. Check sound samples on seymour duncans website.

I also find the JB Jr to have alot more upper mids and treble than a Hot Rails do.

JB Jr seems to cut through more while the Hot Rails is smoother.

I have to agree, the only real difference I've found is a bit more note clarity with high output single coils than with humbuckers. You can play a squier or a 5000 dollar custom shop through a big muff and it pretty much sounds exactly the same.

By the way, the JB has a lot more clarity than the hotrails, or maybe I'm just mistaking highend for clarity. Anyways I've tried both in the bridge position on a strat. The hot rails sounded better with a lot of distortion but sounded a little dull clean and slightly overdriven. The JB sounded the best overdriven and clean, but didn't breakup quite as smoothly with heavy distortion.

i have a hot rails in my mustang, and a full size jb in my strat and jagstang, i love the hot rails and the JB. i dont know about the JB jr. i would think it would be a little thinner sounding than the full JB
