Jaguar Switch Question

Hi... I've just joined and am glad to find so many other Jaguar fans out there. I have a 62 Dakota Red Jaguar and have a question around the switching between pick ups...

- If the top switch has the treble pick up selected - down

- And the first switch of the bottom three (nearest the neck) is down

- The middle switch is up

- When I move the third switch up and down should there be a change in tone?

I've recently had the guitar set up and some of the wiring re-soldered and I'm not sure whether this should happen or there is a problem with the work that was done. (I'm pretty sure there should be a tone change but I'm not 100%)

the bottom switch will yield some different tones. it's a phase switch, i believe, so it won't be night/day usually.

it's not a phase switch, it's a bass cut switch. if you flick it up, then the tone will be considerably thinner.
