Which Gauge

Hi Im new.

I have a Mustang 65' reissue.

I've read some Threads about the gauge of the strings but now I have some questions about this theme.

1. I think for standart Tuning and Dropped-D 11. strings would be great? (Until Today Im using 10. strings what cause a buzz on the low e-string when i play just a little bit too hard. Im using these ones http://www.thomann.de/de/ghs_gblnp.htm)

2. If i install 11. strings on my mustang, do I have to recut the nut?

I use 9-42 on my Mustang and have no problem with fret buzz--I've never had to adjust anything for action.

I'd use whatever gauge feels and sounds good to play.

The buzz could indicate a fret or neck issue.

Oh--and I use GHS Boomers as well.

The buzz just occurs when i play hard, maybe to hard (but that also happens on my Strat clone also 11' strings. but not "so" heavy).

A fret or Neck Issue... what do you mean, I just own this guitar about one year. I dont think the frets are unplayable.

Can you explain the thing with the neck?

Maybe I should post some pictures of my Set up?

i use 10-52 ghs boomers on my Mustang and its fine theres a little fret buzz when i play hard because the string vibrates and hots the fret physically so it has some buzz its not bad though

What I meant is to have the neck checked in case it has bowed and that is causing the bow--also if one or more frets are out of line they may need a bot of work--these things can happen to brand new guitars as well.

Also how high is your action set?

Looks fine to me--but I can't say for sure.

Maybe lower the bridge pick up a bit.

It's a litte bit OT, but today i locked my Tremolo. It seems to work very well. I added 2 washers on each side. (one under the tailpiece and one above). I think it's not the best angle but i think it works this way.
