Sorry if this is a repeated post but I am a newie!
I have recently replaced my issue Jag pickups with SD Quarter-Pounders. I know they are not supposed to be used with covers, but I don't like the idea of the surrounding gap between the new pick-ups and the pick-guard and body (although looks wise, it's ok!) - I have found some thin chrome pick-up covers for a Strat, which a friend of mine said he can bore out to 1/4" to make maximum use of the Quarter-Pounder surface. Unfortunatly, these have to be imported in from the States. Am I wasting my time (and money) by trying to fit Strat pick-up covers onto pick-ups designed for a Jag?
