bought a mid 70s epi archtop!

got it from a fellow named dgner8 on the shortscale forum, he is a top fellow indeed.

it needs a bit of work and the neck is un-original but as of right now it sounds great and plays decently(still needs alot of setup work done to it.

but here are some pics of it.

i made up this bridge and bridge seat to try and get some better action

the trem is basically set to a hardtail at the moment

duct tape is amazing, don't ever forget that!!!!

the masking tape in the pic is to hold the bigsby in place so its not flopping around and cracking into stuff, and the brown tape is the binding tape.

What are your plans for it? New/set neck?

well. i have to mod the trem a bit(i gotta make/ find the equivilant to a buzz stop for a bigsby(just for the tension)

i already glued in blocks so im going to put a tune o matic in there(forever ruining the re-sale, but they are not worth that much anyway) or are they?

Have you strung the trem the right way yet and if so what is the string angle over the bridge like? If you're talking about building a 'buzz-stop' I'm guessing it's pretty shallow.

I'm building an ES-295 type guitar right now and I won a Gretsch B3G Bigsby for it on ebay - I'm having the same trouble with string angle. Really it needs a B7 but tension bars really sap the sensitivity so if I can I want to avoid that.

anytime i start drinking i end up playing some form of the blues, sometimes it comes out as punk rock tho.
