JB Jr vs. Hot Rail - Hard Decision?

Hi, Ive already used the search, but Im not realy shure which pickup is the best for me.

First to my equipment:

Preamp: Mesa-Boogie Studio Preamp

Amp: Peavey 50/50

Cabinet: 1"12 loaded with a Black-Shadow Speaker

The low output singecoil isnt the best choice for my sound. I want a pickup which is more particulated. My prefered Bands are Deftones & Killswitch Engage. Which Pickup is better for me?

i have a mesa studio pre into a crest power amp and out of a marshall.... i put a hot rails in my Tsnag and it sound really nice

Well, Stephen Carpenter from the Deftones uses JB's in his guitars, he wrote how much he loves them in the notes of white pony so i'd get that.

Of course he uses JMP-1's and not Boogie preamps so it won't sound exact, but i'd get the JB.

I guess the Jb is better for me. After difftrent thoughts I think, that the Hotrail isn't clean, when you play it without drive. So at least I dont want to destroy the whole cleansound, which is pretty good with the singlecoil.

On the seymourduncan homepage it sounds to me, as if the hotrails sounds very fizzy when played clean. Maybe you can record some samples?

I own a '66 mustang. I had a JB jr in it before I swapped it out for SD hotrails. I found that the hotrails dont have as much high end that the JB jr had. So between the two, I would say if you like your fender "twang" go for a JB jr. I was so pissed about the sound of the hotrails that while screwing around with the pots I wired the volume wrong and now it acts as an extra tone knob. Heres the thing though, The pickups get brighter when I roll the vol/tone knob down. When its rolled up the hotrails original sound returns. If I need to turn the guitar down I just switch the pickup off. Im happy enough with the sound as is, but would like to know what I did. I dont have the JB JR anymore.
