i just bought a jag-stang

hi all... i just bought a red 96-97 jag-stang... this is my first post... i had a couple of questions... i read through most of the articles and setups on this site and im amazed at how much info i discovered... my first question is about securing the rocking bridge... i know the setup page says to use tape wrapped around the posts... has anyone used anything else like sleeves to secure the bridge? next questions has to do with the tailpiece... im not going to be using the tremolo arm at all... i think i remember reading somewhere about taking the springs out the tailpiece and "securing" the stop bar down to help with tuning? which leads to my next question... i have seen some pics of peoples stop bar flipped around so that the guitar strings go through instead of through and under the stop bar ... is there any advantage to doing that? lol thanks to anyone who took the time to read my "essay"...

thanks for the replies... do i take the springs out then tighten down? im assuming yes since i wont be using the tremolo... anyone have pics of it locked down? as for turning the stop bar around... nirvana23freak is there a benefit to doing it? thanks again...

Thats the part i enjoy though.

If the trem wont be used you can wrap tape around the posts to secure it. Some people use surgical tubing and other weird ####.

i dont know what the advantages of flipping it around necessarily are, you just dont have to wrap it underneath and i like that. and for locking it i just put 1/4 inch washers on the posts that hold tha bar and springs, they wont fall through because it gets bigger... and i just tighten it untill the bar is all the way down on the plate, i dont need space underneath the bar because i flipped it around. it works perfectly
