It does look very similar, the neck, bridge and strap button are different though. Although that is a bass so maybe the bass model of this guitar is set up differently. Or this red one was pieced together from that body, what ever brand that black one is, if that made sense. Great detective work though on your end.
*Edit* After looking at this red one, I think it was a bass at one time, and I do believe you found it. Look at the neck pocket on the red guitar, how big it is and how the fretboard is seemingly covering a large gap, where the bass neck would have fully fit in at.
Looks like they had the body and pieced it together from there. Unless it came from the factory like that, use the same body but set it up for guitar, good way for them to save money I suppose. Now to figure out the brand of that bass. SpookyReverb still around here?
