speaker amp idea

I've had an idea, would it work if I took the jack plug off the end of a lead and soldered it onto a hi-fi speaker and plugged it into the back of a processor unit (my rp50) since it works with headphones it should work with a speaker right?

It's an idea I had for when I travel somewhere and can't take an amp and I need to project sound in a domestic quantity.

actually you take the speaker wire and plug each end directly into the electric socket.

You still need some sort of amplifier - your fx unit probably doesn't generate enough voltage to move a speaker cone, but you don't need much for headphones cos they're so small and relatively quiet.

If you've got an auxiliary input for your hifi you can wire your guitar straight into that - I did it for ages when there was no room for my amp in my room

Yeah, I managed to patch the speaker onto the end of a lead and it worked but it was really quiet.

Now that you mention it, I do have auxilary, cool.
