Well, I finally completed the wiring for this just a minute ago. The SSL-1 pickup is NICE! The switching works as it should, however their isn't much difference in the tone with the Humbucker switching. Series and parallel almost sound identical except I could hear just a little more airyness with the parallel. I had to listen very hard to hear it though. I doubt anyone could tell the difference in a band mix. The split position sounded exactly like series, just a little less volume.
I'll have to check around for some other options to get some better sounds out of this combination.
