Mad idea: Play jazz on a Mustang???

I had this mad idea since I've read on the forum that a Mustang (never heard one before) is darker than strat and tele. Since I also like to play jazz tunes I'm wondering if this Mustang could be used with this purpose.

Maybe could help a special PU wiring to have both PU sounding in series (I have heard it could sound like a Humbucking in this way).

Of course I'm not expecting the semi-hollow acoustic sound of a Gibson 175 but anyway could work.

Let me have your opinions please.

Fender Mustang being a "darker" guitar? I'd say it's probably Fender's brightest guitar...

i wouldnt say brightest but definitely not a dark guitar, even though my stang is quite dark, its has a hot rails in it and that makes it darker
