its not the jag bro, i bought a batch of 12 dean markley strings, every single high e string in that package broke at the ball, and these were the guitars i was using them on.

my gf's wasburn hollow body.(hardtail)
and a G&L asat.(hard tail)
go to the music shop and get a single high e string of something you do not normally use, put it on and play it like you mean it, if it does not break after an hour or so of playing and using the trem then you should be golden.
