He must have taken it to a custom shop as his name is inlaid in the fingerboard (you see it a few times in the video I linked to). This suggests that the paint-job was custom too.
I couldn't find the vid, but there's one of him playing in the open air, which gives a better shot of the guitar. It's always looked like a custom grey-burst to me, though anything is feasible. I'll search around and see if I can find the vid.
