Yesterday I sent the body off to be painted something (don't recall) blue (the color closest matching Lake Placid Blue I could find), and to have the comp stripe applied.

The neck is being built as of this post. Maple neck w/ maple fretboard. black dot inlays. Fender CBS headstock (reversed).

In the neck position: Di Mizario DP217 YJM Pickup

Bridge: Seymour Duncan JB

Pots:

DiMizario 500k Split Shaft Pots

Hardware:

Graph Tech Nut/String Tree

Dimizario 1/4" Output Jack

Gotoh Locking Tuners (lefty)

im still out of town, but i hear the final coats are going down..when i get back i have to show the guy where the comp stripes go, so h can put them on and add the clear coat...

looks nice, thing about the dimarzio 500 k pots you put you were using for hardware, they wont work with the control plate or knobs. i got some, the mustang push on knobs wont work, the set screw ones i can only i magine would no problem. but the holes on the control plate arent big enough for the dimarzio pots to fit through.

Looks like it could been sanded alot better, but thats just my opinion.

on the pots im not sure of this cuz i havent ordered mine yet, but im getting fender 500k standard of gpr, if they dont fit that would be retarded

It probably could have, but I like it how it is, besides you can't feel it so It doesn't matter to me!

i would agree, those still look like the sanding marks from my thickness sander, did you final sand at all?

its not like i can say anything cuz i have done that before, i just said screw it one time and put on paint, no clears even, just paint, its got the rat-rod feel to it.

Is that with the clearcoat on already?If so,it should be smoother than that.Either way it looks cool.

I painted this one with Dupli-Color Automotive spray lacquer and clear coat..It hasn't been buffed out yet.

This is a '68 body that has been contoured and had the top horn raepd.

It's been fisnished over 6 months now...that's an old pic when I first painted it.It's still not buffed out.She uses it all the time and doesn't want me to rip it apart..

It has been raped a bit but it looks alright to me in that last pic, looks a bit more like the metal strat copies that go around.

i can't beleive i didn't see it before, its definitly a job well done on your part.

when i have kids they will be the last person i build a guitar for.

Yes '69 mustang has the pup covers in surf green.

I built it for my daughter the way she wanted it.SHE likes it..that's all that matters.Keep the kids happy and mom and dad are happy...It does sound really good and it's so easy for her little hands.

Got some of the parts on order right now..so its coming along!

I like the mustang bassintom. With that top horn mutilated, it looks a bit meaner than a standard mustang, i dig it.
