AnotherTool I think you'll have problems getting a decent answer to that question.Firstly you'll need someone who had tried all the options, and in the same guitar, and even then you don't know how good thier ear is.
AnotherTool That's what i'd go for, i haven't tried like the hot rails or anything but i've had a guitar with a full sized JB and loved it so much i got another one for another guitar.
LpZeppelin ya i did a little reasearch and heard that it's a great pick up and it doesn't cost that much.
AnotherTool If you like the sound of Nirvana (In Utero), The Deftones and Tool, then depending on your amp, it'll get close to them tones.
LpZeppelin cool yea i have a marshall jcm 800 half stack whitch cant get that god nirvana tones but i might get a fender bassman head witch i know kurt used for recording nevermind

LpZeppelin no actually i found a really nice 79' bassman on craigslist for around 350 but i dont have the money to get it
