here are soem pics of the jaguar.

and here is the mustang, it comes with the og pups and switches, and thats the original hardshell case.

im leaning toward a yes.

most likely, even though late 70's fenders are kinda a turn off to me because of the decline in quality CBS brought, but id most likely go through with a trade like that

well it is safe to say that cbs was using the same patterns for the mustang so things like routes and shape should be almost identicle to pre-cbs and the tremolo units are the same, the main difference is the grouding method and the cloth wire vs. plastic wire.

the tuners were just kluson deluxe knockoff's

things like strats and teles were getting re-invented every 4 years.

same with the jaguar and jazzmaster, but they didn;t get as nasty as a 79 strat or a 78 tele deluxe.

I love that maple fretboard. My local GC had a maple fretboard mustang they sold for $1100. Played really nice, but too pricey for me.

any day of the week. I like the maple, and I don't like the candy red. And 1978 = more kudos / sought after than 1996, CBS and all.

here is my plan, get tha jap jaguar, make templates of it.

trade it for the mustang,

make templates of that.

then sell the mustang for what it is worth(all the og parts are included)

it will probly sell for a lil more than 1000.00 on ebay and that should bring me close enough to be being able to buy a u.s. jaguar.

If them late 70's MM's i had are anything to go by the necks are way better than CIJ Jags. Its mostly about playability in the end innit, and CIJ pups are'nt great either. Nice looking Jag though.

I'd say go for it. You can get CIJ Jags all day long, they are a dime a dozen. Vintage Mustangs are much more harder to come by, especially Back, maple.
