Jag-Stang or Mustang?

jag-stang: sonic blue/white perloid

mustang: sonic blue/brown tortoise (kind of strange combination,but i can buy white perloid pickguard somewhere later..)

what is not good about the mustang is the fact,that the seller is from the States (which means another quarter from the guitar price added for shipping),without a case

the jag-stang is from Europe (low shipping for me) and comes with hard case,as i said..

well,but the mustang has the seymour duncan mini JB,so i dont have to upgrade the pickups and the sound would be fine,i guess..the jag-stang means another investment for JB..

is it really so bad with the (no)contours of the jag-stang?does it hurt 😀

Rick: so you are saying that the neck of mustang is better?i have read,that a jag-stang neck is a perfect copy of mustang,isn't it true?

I'd suggest just spending some time playing both of them and see which one feels the best to you, the one that makes you feel most comfortable should be something to consider.

oh,this is such a great idea,how did it come,that i didn't think it up by myself,right tomorrow i'm catching a plane to states,try the mustang and on the way back i can make a stop in France to try that jaggie..

(there's no way to try them,cause they are not sold in our stores here in Czech rep. and i dont know anybody,who owns one ☹ )

so if nothing's gonna happen,i am for the jag-stang,if anyone has something to say against this,say it right now or keep mum till the end of being

the necks felt the same to me. like johnnie says, they might feel a little different. but all jaguar, mustang and jag-stang necks should be the same. they are all 24", with C profile and 42mm nut width. so that makes them all more or less identical in my book.

i mean, my old '62 jaguar neck feels a bit different to my new jaguar neck. but i've measured the girth and everything with a cloth tape measure, and they measure up the same

I think that the nut width on the Japanese guitars are a little different.

My Jag-Stang certainly feels smaller than my Jag.

Ishibashi states nut width on Jag-Stang and Mustang as 40mm, and Jaguar as 41mm...but I haven't actually measured them myself.

i have to agree. the body of my jstang actually feel really fluid when i'm playing it.

the js neck feels better than the mustang neck to me. i don't know why it just does. i agree with what lamp says about pickups. the JB is ok, but it's not the best pickup in the world. i prefer the super distortion for a start. also, i think the pearl guard looks awful. the brown tort on the stang is ok, but read tort looks better imo. as for contours, i've not had a problem with the JS - the shape of the body means that there is no wood in the area where wood would be on other guitars so i don't think it needs contours.

you have seen a video in 94' of kurt playing his Jag? do you happen to own this and could you possibly upload it i would like to see the jag in action. Also i suggest get the mustang although i am extremely biased but the more reasonable approach seems to be to purchase the jag and spend the extra money to modd it up for the sound u want

there's a few people on here that call jagstangs jags. it's annoying and stupid. jagstangs aren't jags. they aren't even jagstangs.
