I think the basic premise to consider is that it's not a *true* P90, rather a fabrication of the sound in a different space. The key to the difference in sound and power with these pickups and regular Jaguar pickups is the fact that this, like a regular P90, uses bar magnets and screw polepieces, not magnetic slug poles. This, as I've mentioned before, is also why you can't fit the claw, because the magnets are in the way, as they're designed to be easily chopped and changed by the purchaser depending on what sound they want. There are also significantly more windings on it (the paperwork that came with it said 9,500), and the DC impedance clocks out at about 9.6 Ohms.
It doesn't sound entirely like other P90s I've used. It's still got some Fender sparkle to it, but is altogether beefier. Marketing it as a P90 might not be entirely accurate, but is closer to the mark than anything else really.
