This makes perfect sense to me. Leo loved cars from a design and styling perspective and the Jaguar really shows it with all the chrome panels, switches and the automotive paint colors he used from that era.
For example; Fiesta red is 57 T-bird red and Daphne blue is Chev Bel-Air blue. Some of the first metallic car paints were used on Fender guitars. I think the silver was a Corvette color.
The ZZ boys are car freaks and love hot rods as well.
