pickup changing question

I have some lace sensors i'm going to drop into my jag. Can i use the current wiring and attach the wiring from the new pickup to the existing wiring? Or do i need to rewire the whole wire.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a jag?

Hope someone can help me out!

The Lace Sensor should have three wires. Black, White and Green.

White and Green go together, then you wire the pup in exactly the same as your original pup was installed.

looked at it a bit closer and white and green seem to be the grounding, orange is hot.

Need some extra screwdrivers, might pick some up tonight and give it a shot ...

On a side note: Also installed graphtech saddles, plays realy nice, better tone even with the stock pickups. And my jag (JAP) is grounded at the tailpiece so there isn't a grounding problem!

I'm not absolutely sure of what you are trying to say.

I think it's best if you'll simply heat up the post where the pickup wires are attached (obviously to the switch) remove and replace with the new one. In fact, you won't need any solder if you'll just apply a bit of Acid Flux Paste to the new wires, heat up the post and push the new wire through. The old solder will make it's way onto the new and you are done.

i took some quick shots, it's a bit dark here so the either are blurry or blue'ish due to the flash ...

i know that the setup is poor (or even non existing)

I give it a quick whirl and the sound is x times better then the stock MIJ pickups. I haven't tried them with the standard saddles so i can't say if the graphtechs have something to do with it (i think the influence would be minimal)

But it definatly has waaaaay more bite, a whole lot warmer yet very clear ... very 'organic' sound. Also lends itself to a more overdrive sound way easier then the stock ones.

I'm not a pro on playing or analising sounds... so this is just my experience with it so far. Haven't regret doing it. It multiplies the usabilty and quality of my jag by 10.

A nice alternative for all the seymour loaded jags out there!!!
