I went through "The Fender Book" again, page by page. All I found was what I have already copied into a previous post. The book lists the "International colors" as "these were the finishes available" in 1981. No mention of what guitars. Then I just found a site that has pictures of the International colors but only on Stratocasters. They then go one to say that these finishes were for Strat's.
Enarmax, I did compare the Mustang with a Strat in Monaco yellow, and the Mustang looks more mustard colored than the Strat. Again, lighting, age can all play a part. Because of the huge area of doubt surrounding this guitar, I would say let it go. Settle more on something that can be proven to be real. Heres the link-
