From reading these posts I think I've seen some kind of problem with figureing out when Mine was made. You have the info from the fender site as:-

Q + 6 DIGITS 1993-1994 and

Crafted in Japan Q + 5 DIGITS 2002-2004

Now mine is Q089629. = Q + 6. But it couldn't possibly be 93-94, could it?

And I couldn't tell you if it's CIJ or MIJ because it is in the post to me right now.

Although as soon as I get it the neck is coming off to check.

Any thoughts?

i think the started producing the parts in late 94, so its possible

Late '94 was first production. T+ 6 digits was the first serial numbers for the Jag-stang. I own a Sonic Blue '94 and a Fiesta Red '03. serial on the '94 is "Made In Japan" T037964, the '03 is "Crafted In Japan" Q072388. So if yours has a "Q" its an '03.

I've put a seymour duncan shr-1 hotrail on neck but not changed yet the bridge pickup (a sh4 JB may replace it soon). The pickguard is mint.

You all are right, RELEASED in '95, They had to make them befor they released them.

i doubt fender would make a small number of a certain guitar 2 years before they were released. once you get something set up you gotta crank it out.

anyone have an idea on how many jag-stangs were made in the original run?

yeah maybe, they might has assembled them in '95 and used jaguar or mustang necks. The serial number on mine starts with "T" and they claim the dating to that is '94-'95. Rob Roe said he got his Christmas of 1994. and his also has a "T" serial.

the left guitar: Q 080938 (year of product 2002-2004) the colour is SONIC BLUE ====> REISSUE

the right guitar: V 008723 ( year of product' 1996) the colour is different , the colour is Aqua blue green , better for me really sweet .

I insit the colour are not the same with the 1996 and 2002 model

One got two stickers behind the head ( fender 50 th birthday and Kurt Cobain design model) the other have no sticker the K.C design model is on the head , not a sticker)

I have a fiesta red serial number T034988. I dug up the old tag tags that were attached when I bought the thing. On the back it states that it was inspected by a guy named T. Jack on Sept 28th 1995.
