Here is my jag-stang. It was in really poor shape when I got it. I had to do a complete rewire, new nut, new bridge thimbles, new vibrato springs, and full setup. It has had a rough life. Someone has scratched off "Made in Japan", but did leave the serial number. The back of the body is covered in finish cracks. It was previously setup as a lefty so someone took marker and drew fret marker dots on the bottom edge of the neck. I've spent the past couple weeks getting it back in good playing condition.

The body is stamped 95 in the neck pocket and serial on the neck is U025601. It has the Fender 50th Anniversary stick on the back of the headstock.

Does anyone know the production run for the 1996 model year(how many made that is) also how may Sonic Blues and how many Fiesta Reds were made? If you happened to know that, do you also have the same info for the later years along with individual color runs. I was really curious to know which color was more rare and year. If anyone knows, please give a shout out thanks!

5949586 fiesta red What part of this # is the numerical amount? Where would that start?

example 594/9586. Would it be 9,586 for that color and model year?

If I understand correctly then it looks like the Sonic Blue is more rare. If I am wrong please correct me.

Many thanks! If that is true, isn't a run of only 7,000 to 9,000 a pretty low production run worldwide for any guitar? Especially since the mid-90's and given that this is a Kurt Cobain guitar, most of the younger players of this model may be inclined to beat the crap out of them or mod them to death making a pristine original collectable mint example extremely difficult to find nowadays.

As this guitar ages considering what I said above, the days of $500.00 or less for mint examples may be short lived and it may be more collectable than most people previously believed it to be. What does everyone else think?

Just a newer picture of the serial number for my lefty jag since the old one sucked.

also took the neck off to check the date, its jan 1997, it also has JT-95N on the back of the neck.

I checked mine a couple of days ago. It's a Sonic Blue. Serial Number is T022555. I bought it years ago brand new, played it lots, then got something better and it has been sitting in my closet for the last few years. I would greatly appreciate any more information that could be added to this. Thanks.
