depends on who you ask.
i worked for a fellow that made a type of bass, half epoxy, half wood, not bad, but not my style in terms of sound/looks, he himself plays a 71 p-bass but makes the complete opposite of what he generally likes.
aside from that, i have made a few bodies here and there, and i made a shop bass when i was in st. lious.
it was 30' scale tho, so it was rather short.
