62 Tailpeice???

I have a MIJ Jaguar. I would like to change out the standard tail piece and get one from a 62 jaguar. Its completely different in design but I dont see why it wont work. Maybe it wont. But Im having a hard time finding one. Where do they sell them. I wouldnt be opposed to a used one either...

Now the question is...Will a tailpeice for a 62 Jaguar fit on a newer MIJ Jaguar Special? It almost looks to me like the actual bridge or tailpeice is in a different position. Has anyone ever tried this and will it fit?

When I won my '65 jag it came without its tremolo, sold as parts. I had a MIJ tremolo laying around that I tried to put on the '65. Surprise, surprise it didn't fit. The American one's seem a little different, maybe bigger?.

So it might fit, but wouldn't the other way around, Jap Jag to Avri Tremolo I mean.

i know the routes are the same size.

i have u.s. on my tele and a jap one on my jaguar, and heck even an allparts one to compare with.

i always figured they were the same size, i don't see why you can;t just drill new holes into a jap body, a vintage one on the other hand.......
