my wah's all grimy and such, been putting off clean it for quite some time now.... Whats the best stuff to use to clean it, and lube up the gear and sprocket mech.'s. It's all dusty and what not, sounds all scratchy, and we can't have that, even thought its fun to make noise with while adding distortion.

You can buy compressed air in a spray can from electronics stores, that will blow all dust particles from the area.

nah, that won't do awhole lot. I mean the actual gear and "post" mechanism. Needs lubin'... ahh, i'll figure it out...

If it is audibly 'scratchy' through an amplifier then inside the pot wants spraying with servisol switch cleaner, as for lubricating the mechanism i would clean it up then use WD40 over oil/grease because they will attract even more crap.

There is a silicone lubricant spray but i'm not sure were they stock it, that is the best for exposed mechanisms because dirt, dust, etc. wont stick to it.

So a "scratchy" sound through the amp is a dirty pot? Excellent, my VOX has started getting scratchy through the "high" part of the travel. I'll have to blast with some switch/electrical cleaner.
