Tremolos Japanese or U.S.A

I am writing to you people in a state of total misery.

Whilst jamming along in a rather psychedelic fashion on my beloved Jaguar to "Don't" by the one and only DINOSAUR JR.(GENIUS) I totally screwed the tremolo unit. The guitar had fallen several times on it's trem bar.(clumsy folks at gigs knocking it when on a guitar stand)I got a guitar tech friend to look at it,he said it was fine.I'm convinced it was weakened. Anyway the spring snaped and everything fell loose nd started rattlin round inside it. When trying to repair the thing the guy said the thing needed replacement. This leads me to my question. The Jag is a japanese but I was wonderin if there would be any advantages in getting an american unit,any differences.

I guess it's a pretty trivial query but I must also come to terms with the turd I made of my lovely Jag.

Its sounds like you just need a new spring, that is if you've got all the tremolo parts still? I just don't get how it all came loose inside. The screw should have still been holding, even if the spring was broken. The spring screw that it.

I tried to put a Japanese tremolo on a American Jag body, and it didn't fit. The U.S tremolo's are slightly bigger, slightly.

Thank thee. Yeah,it'[s #### annoying and I don't have all the parts,I rather smartly lost the plug for plugging the bar in. It can't really be explained which is rather annoying.

Well dude, I guess your gonna have to buy another tremolo. I'm sure you can find them on eBay, thats where I got my American tremolo. Cost me about $90 new.
