I'm interested in the scallops, did you remove the frets first? What did you use, just a half round file and a lot of sandpaper?
Yes i'm a carpenter. You leave the frets on and file from the centre outwards, it takes time especially at the nut end of the neck. Be carefull not to go too deep or you will remove the dot inlays and go carefully near the frets.
I used a round file (rat tail) then sand paper to finish off.
I love scalloped necks and have nearly bought a Malmsteen Strat neck several times, but i fear if i get used to the scallops it will be the only thing i want which would make a lot of my guitars redundant.
Incidently, it cost me very little to put that Strat together with ebay parts. I considered scalloping necks and selling no-name Strats with the scalloped necks.
