Mustang Repairs

I'm fairly new to my Mustang and I'm curious how easy it is to get repairs on things like wiring/pickups/tremelo/bridge?

I bought my '65 reissue at Guitar Center and got a 2 year add-on warranty. My question is are most guitar shops familiar enough with the Mustang to setup it up and fix issues? Also are there access to parts if needed? Like if they needed a new bridge can an authorized dealer get a new one from Fender easily?

They'll work it out, most guitars work in the same way, and it's easy enough to get parts for.

You're confident of this mustang aren't you? You got a two year warranty and you're asking about replacement parts before anything's even gone wrong with it!

Well it's definitely not as common as a strat or Les Paul. And I was just curious what experience people had with getting repairs done if needed.

I got the two year warranty because I like to play around with the switches a lot to find different tones. It's just added insurance that I don't need to worry about electronics for 3 years. The Fender warranty doesn't cover electronic past a year.

It's a basic guitar, like a strat and a les paul, it hasn't anything that's hard to fix.

Now, a guitar with a floyd, that's not as easy to set up, but they should be able to do it, they can't be called tech's if they can't, and the only super tricky one would be the new self tuning Les Paul.

I think you just have to find the right guy to do the job. I don't think alot of shops are familiar with the electronics. I think a well experienced shop owner would not have one problem fixing a mustang.

I dont see a reason why anyone couldnt fix, repair or ajust a Mustang... There are wiring diagrams everywhere, I cant think of a Mustang part that you cant buy new. everything else as far as ajustments are pretty much self explanatory.

apples is apples my friend.

once you understand what a good setup is, you can pretty much setup any guitar, regardless of the bridge.

all bridges have the same basic components and some have some extras, and the extras are just for extra tweeks, you catch my drift.

if someone has spent 20 years working on strats and never seen or worked on a stang before they would do a good job becuz in all honesty the stang bridge is much easier to work with than a strat, and the trem is pretty easy to figure out.
