hey again, I want to change the pickguard on my jag, it has one of those awful bright red ones and ive found a perfect rich dark red one but its a US fit, will it go on my jap body?

Actually, what is it about the Jap guards that differs from the US ones?

if its just the neck cut being different then its no problem to me

Screws and things won't allign properly 'cause the US ones are cut to imperial measurements and Jap ones are cut metric. They try and get them pretty close I think but everything's just a wee bit off.

actually, i saw a sunburst jag somewhere recently that had a mint pickguard and it gave it a cool kinda half strat look, think that would be a good alternative if i can't find a tort guard that fits?

Actually no, thats a compromise, sod that.

What is it about the mij that differs from cij? People on ebay seem adament that they do not crossover.

I suppose it would be possible to plug the body holes and redrill for a mij pickguard but not yet.

fender changed it from made in japan to crafted in japan in 95 or 96 just because. they are al the same, the PGs will work

well, i'd have thought they'd change more than the name, like the decal, materials, shielding plates, available finishes and so forth, but i'm willing to give it a shot,

I have a mint green pickguard that will fit a CIJ if your interested.

BTW, guitarpartsresource are great to deal with. In most cases they ship faster than uk retailers, and most of their stuff almost works out at half price to uk shops.

I would go as far as saying never, ever buy anything offset related from the uk, because they will bend you over everytime.
