but if thats the case, then why have the second ready to ship if the first was still a prototype? wouldn't it still be being worked out w/o sending him the "requested" two models he supposedly wanted, unless those two prototypes were free. Which is possible b/c of his Fender endorsement. I don't know, it just seems a pickguard color would be quite an oversight on the custom shops part, especially since the red one had it right, at least the pg color anyway...
Obviously, he wasn't happy w/ it, this is obvious, but at the time, did fender think this was a final product?? I'm just curious on how a white pg got on a guitar that had many notes for a white pearl guard, while the red one HAD the pearl guard. That is definatly something to consider, but I just wonder if that is the case considering their attention to detail. does that mean that the custom shop was OUT of pearl at the time, or did they just think that b/c he was quote, unquote, "a nice guy" that he wouldn't give a shiznit, so why bother grabbing a pg blank that might be right next to the other??
