Yay for fender au

At last fender au have decided to import japanese guitars, starting with a whole lot of Jaguars. Got to play a Surf Green with matching headstock and damn! It's a beauty! Lovely tone and a very good neck. I also got to play a very poorly setup Sunburst at another store which had terrible pickups but I think it was more the amp settings. The Surf Green was going for AU$1165, the cheapest Jag I've seen so far.

Also while I was at it, I got to try out some of the new Squier products now available here such as the 24" Jagmster. I would say this is the best bang for your buck, with great playability and great sound. Only let down would be the cheap tuners and bridge, easily fixed for $100. I could get either a Sunburst for $525 or a all black for $350, but I think the black was an older model (25.5")

Anyway, anyone in Australia please tell about any new products Fender AU is offering. I've notice also an influx of different strats and teles, much nice than the mexs we got before.

The funny thing about Steve Irwin, he is nothing like mosty Australians. He's a Queenslander and they have really odd accents that arent really ozzie.

insertword: I'm overjoyed as well. Last year if I asked can I get products from japan its like "NO! Only American or Mexican (excluding Squier)". Now its like "We can even get special runs for you as long as you ask in advance"

Most of all, the Jap guitars are cheaper than Americans and some Mexican and are of same quality of American minus the electronics.

when i was looking for a jag a store guy said fender japan and australia were on bad terms, so they couldn't get anything in.

It must have changed. The Japanese stuff isnt a special order, because they are all stickered with "Fender Australia Inc.." or something to that effect

he's from infomercialand, i can't believe you guys thought he was really australian. it's a small island out in the middle of the atlantic that genetically engineers chirpy buffoons to cater to the needs of rising american inventors/entrepeneurs who are on a budget. i can try and dig out the order form if you want.
