C I J Jaguar bridge

Hi.....is there a way to adjust the C I J Jaguar's bridge up

or down? Also...what'sw the story on this guitar's tremelo system?

Does the trem bar have a screw thread od does it

just sit in the hole...kind of flaps around a bit.

Any tips or tricks on getting this bar to stay in one place?

You adjust the bridge height via the two grub screws inside either post with a small allen key.

The trem arm just sits in the socket, make sure it is fully pushed in. Sometimes they do flap around a bit, if you check the tremelo system diagram on:

You will see how it all works. It looks complicated but is'nt, its just a case of 'balancing' things up to suit your needs.

hi Fran....thanks for the reply....great to get a scan of the original

manual. I think with a little bit of tweaking, my Jaguar

will most definitely become an excellent player.

You could not be closer to the truth.

The Jag is a personal instrument that is very adjustable, that is why it is important to take time out with it to get it right. 😉

to the diagram in the manual [thanks for that]

you'll notice arrow one points to the channel

arrow 2 points to a thingy called the THIMBLE

I don't have that on my Jag...what is the THIMBLE and what does it do and hey!

why haven't I got one? :]

also...I thought I had every Hex wrench on the planet but not one of

them fits the Jag....do you know the EXACT name + size?....

is it Metric/Euro/British? I hope I haven't been landed with a dud but when I refer back to an original 62 Jag/re-issue...everything looks ok...so I think all I need at this point is the correct wrench...[i'm a bit if I can locate one]

I think they are referring to the metal cup in the body when they say thimble.

The size allen key i am not sure, i too got fed up with not having the right size so went and purchased a cheap big set of metric and imperial.
