Thanks. Well, I listed it on eBay @ £1899 a week or so ago, but I've been away with work for most of that time, which didn't help matters.

It's hard to be sure with eBay, but I would expect any offers I get to be closer to £1600. A deal off eBay would obviously make any offer more acceptable. It does seem strange that something like this is likely to sell for less than a new AVRI Jag (£1768 @ Richtone). A refinished '66 Strat or Tele would sell for considerably more than a new AVRI.

some place like hollywood gc or the chicago music exhanged would ask more like 6 thousand for that.

Unfortunately it seems that the pickups & scratchplate are later replacements. It still seems strange to me that this is likely to sell for less than a new AVRI!

If you can get me $3000 to $4000 for it, I'll cut you in! 😁

hhhmmm...... the pups take away a good amount of the value, the pg not so much, im willing to be that you could still score 3000 grand on ebay.

tell you what, if indeed its worth less than a new avri(not msrp, but gc price) then i will match the g.c. price

Well, as I understand it, you folks over the pond pay considerably less than we do for US & Mexican made gear. And I believe you don't have to pay any sales taxes either? The figure of £1768 I quoted includes VAT @ 20%. But I'm curious - what does GC charge for a new AVRI Jag?

The company over here whose price I quoted (Richtone) is an independent, but their online prices are generally very competitive. We don't really have an equivalent of GC, but I assume that Central London store prices would be higher than Richtone's price.

$3000 is about £1980, which is pretty much what I have it listed for.

musicians friend/guitar center, i think sells jags for 1400.00 u.s. we have to pay sales tax.

i bought a 2 year old jag(avri) from a store for 900 bucks in 2006. at the time that was pretty much the going rate. i believe i sold it two years later for about 1,000.00

that last time i looked it seemed like the avri used jag market had jumped to more like 1200.00 on average.

but i haven't the money nor the amp to even think of owning a jaguar.

So you guys pay £920 for a new Jag AVRI & we pay £1750? 🤷 Wow... I knew there was a price difference, but wow.....

Please don't tell me how much you pay for petrol, I had to fill the tank up yesterday 😢

its about 3.79 a gallon over here. i just realized yesterday that the 62 reissue has been discontinued. apparently the closest is the 65 re-issue is 2,500.00 dollars(u.s)

According to guitar center's website, the AVRI 65 jag sells for $2,400 so about £1580.

Yes the price I quoted was for a '65 Jag RI. So we only pay £200 more than you do? That surprises me.

Doesn't suprise me that much, the pound and dollar are getting close, the difference comes with all the taxes you guys have to pay over there as opposed to sales tax here, which varies state to state. In California the sales tax is 7.5% so they'd end up paying $2580 for the guitar, whereas in Delaware there is no sales tax, so they'd pay the flat $2400

Ah, is that how it works? I thought it was on a state by state basis. So do the majority of states have no sales tax?

at the end of the day, each state has thier way of pulling in funds. for example. a pack of cigs in one state can be 4 dollars, just two states up. that same pack its more than doubled at 9 dollars a pack. but that gets into all sorts of state by state regulations and other crap

Most states have sales taxes, but it varies, one state may have no tax, while another has 7.5%, my state is 6.25%. the cigs thing is also taxes, i know here its like 10 bucks a pack just because the state raised taxes on tobacco.

New to this forum but thought I would share my Jaguar project . This is a CIJ and was originally sunburst but I had it resprayed in Daphne Blue , added Seymore Duncan's , mint plate , Johnny Marr Trem arm ( no sloppy trem here ) and tea it's just brilliant . Next thing is to try and source Marr sig wiring diagram the get the tele switch but hey I am pretty pleased so far .................
