Richie A mate of mine's giving me an old crappy jazz bass copy, 'cause he recently got himself a CIJ Mustang Bass and I need a bass of some sort for recording. The neck basically looks and feels like bolsa wood, and has a rosewood fingerboard (I prefer maple on a bass), so I'm looking into swapping the neck. I've found an ebay shop selling Mighty Mite jazz necks, maple fretboard, fully fretted and finished and nut installed, exactly what I'm looking for, and it'll come to about
BobArsecake They're a very reputable company, I have some of their pickups in a guitar and they're really great. I know a guy who used a Mighty Mite neck for his Telecaster project, and he said it was very good. I'm pretty sure they're Fender liscensed as well.
bassintom I have/had a couple of them.They are fairly decent necks.I never had a problem with them.I just give them a few coats of clear.
robertoriginal i got a mighty might neck for a strat project way back, it was 90 bucks and worth every bit of it, the finish was satin, and satin is lame anyway, i would definitly get gloss over the satin crap, but still, it was way worth the money i paid for it.
