Robbie Robertson Crossroads

Does anyone know what model guitar Robbie Robertson was playing during "who do you love" at the 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival. In the photo only one pickup is visible but there is another at the bridge. It has three knobs and what looks like a 5-way switch.

looks like a custom strat w/ a slightly smaller/reshaped body.

Are there strats with only two pickups? Or are there three and I am blind? Also when i tried pausing the dvd to get a look at the headstock it appears that there is a signature on the end of the headstock, like fender's signature models so I thought it might be an edition I missed.

guitars are customizable, he could have gotten a new pickguard with only two pick ups. the head stock does look like it has a sig on it, so it coul be a custom, or a custom he modded

The sig model of Richie Blackmore has only bridge and neck pickup, but that is NOT a Blackmore strat, Richie's has 70's headstock.

I couldn't find any matches in my Frontline mags for the years 03-07, so it may be from a earlier year. Either that, or its his own signature prototype.... Check to see if his signature matches whats on the peghead.

Yeah, I tried to enlarge the dvd image, but it can't zoom in enough to clearly make out what the signature said. Also, it is not a custom from fender, as those signatures would be on the back of the headstock, not the front. It is definitely a signature model. (from other forum discussions) Although no one seems to know exactly who's signature model it is.

In the 70s (see the Last Waltz DVD) Robbie had the middle moved to next to the lead pickup, had them wired in series for that overdriven sound he gets in the movie (he played a couple of 50s strats, one of which he had bronzed, in that show). If you can't see the middle pickup, I bet that's what he had done to this guitar.

The paint job (burst without the wood grain showing through in the center) and black pickguard/knobs color scheme seem to be something out of the 70s but the headstock is not the large 70s style.
