Have you seen the Epiphone version? They are absolutely brilliant if you are a big fan or in a Wailers tribute band. It has Bobs face on the body, jamaican flag inlays and it comes in a hemp gig bag.. how cool is that?

I don't see why Gibson would have made a Bob Marley signature guitar, i mean yeah, the guy could write a song, but i wouldn't class him as a guitarist, more of a songwriter.

The Jag-stang is a new design though Rich, most people that use a JS could'nt care less it was designed by Cobain. The interest is in the design.

There are plenty of Jazzmasters around and has been since the 1960's, having a Costello signature model seems pointless. Who next? Thurston Moore, The Ventures, ?

if they did a thurstom moore jazzy it would be a new design tho, think about it, you think they would just give it a pretty finish?

It would just be a variation of the Jazzmaster not a new model in its own right. I dont follow Thurstons fortunes but as far as i remember the only significant difference is the added chrome jack plate, is there anything else?

I can see both sides to this one. I agree that it's different because it's a new model, I was just pointing out that Kurt was a much better songwriter than guitar player and his proficiency on a guitar did not warrant a signature model. What about the Japanese KC Mustangs and Jags? Ghey.

Nah, the jag-stang is worthy because it's a unique design that Cobain came up with.

Most sig models are just standard guitars with a non-stock finish or contain a simple pickup transplant, coming up with the guitar that you guys love is a whole different story.

I don't love Jag-Stangs, they're just ugly Mustangs with humbuckers. The only guitars I really love are Jazzmasters and Mavericks.
