65 RI on its way!

I stopped by my local guitar store the other day and had the owner or me a 65RI Mustang. I'll check in tommorrow to see when it should arrive. I'm excited. This is my first Mustang and my first shortscale. It was between that and the '69RI Telecaster Thinline. But, I chose the Mustang since I already own a tele.

Can't wait! I'll take pics once it's here.

Great! I was thinking about getting me a '65 RI, I have a Vintage '65 and a '66 and a handfull of '69 RI, But.. im needing a '65 RI now, a Daphne Blue one.

I hope you like your 65RI. Great guitar, but to tell ya the truth if you're a fan of the 69RI like I am it's not the same.

Do you mean the '69RI Mustang or the '69RI Thinline Tele?

im guesing the 69 ri mustang.

i have played both, my gf used to have the 69 and it was decent, but the 65 i played at sam ash was loads better in feel and quility.

Yea the 69 Mustang. I've always liked the contours. It's all a matter of taste. But the 65 Mustang does have some great features.

Does anyone know what kind of case the '65RI is shipped with? Is it a hard case or a gig bag?

the only fenders with a hardshell case are the u.s. fenders, and even then i think its only certain ones.

generally with a "deluxe" model, wether its jap or mexi it comes with a nice gig bag.

Unfortunatly, the '65 RI's don't come with a case or a gig bag. We have 2 at the shop I work at and they just came in triangular card board boxes. They're great guits, really fun to play, but sadly, no case or gig bag.....be cool if Fender released an American Vintage Re-Issue w/old school case....hmmmmmmm 😉💡

How does it sound compared to the other guitars you have?

Any chance of a pic of the whole thing face on? As big as you can make it without distorting.
