I have an orange Mustang that a few people have told me look like Kurts Roseland Ballroom Mustang, but i think mines is to 'orange' his was fiest red.

im working on making a replica of his main sonic blue mustang for the in utero tour right now, trem is done, tom installed, neck shimmed, just waiting to do the pickguard and bridge pickup

yeah, the cij pick ups arent too good. i put a hot rails in my CIJ stang and its a lot better, i still want to get 500k pots and maybe a .022 cap.

I was thinking about the 500K pots aswell but then I have to mod out the control plate which isn't really a big deal. I put some hot rails in my tele custom and the difference in sound and power are pretty remarkable.

nice guitar, but i think Kurt's one had a straight humbucker in the bridge.

kurts did have a straight but im assuming he went with an angled so he could use the same guard without some random holes from where the single was.

I bought it like that a few years ago. I've since swapped out the pots for 500k ones and fitted orange caps. Sounds great. The new pots are too big for my knobs though 😕 , I need to get smaller sized pots or bigger knobs. If I were to sell it, I'm not sure how much for???

theres some that pop up on ebay, like right now, the "kurt" style mustangs direct from japan, they dont have he right humbucker in them though. most people who buy mustangs dont route them out for the pickup because the guitars sound pretty good with the stock single coils. and the people who have routed it for a humbucker love the way they sound so much they dont want to part with them.
