well.. i've taken a month and a half off and i could definately tell the differance.. i was a bit sloppy but that came back within a few days, the biggest differnce i noticed was the change in my style, because i thought about what i wanted to play when i got the chance again worked on some penned out ideas and chord progressions i thought of in the downtime. i was having a bit of trouble writing, and i couldnt find anything i wanted to learn. so i just took awhile off, then i came back to it with money for some new gear and some new ideas. 3 months might be pushing it if your in to sweep picking or anything really technical.. for me, i have to keep up on the really complicated stuff or i lose speed and accuracy and then i get disappointed without the motivation to rehone any skills.. and im the kinda person who can't stand not being able to do something that seemed to come naturally, so i dont really take breaks anymore.. just get really aimless for awhile ha. i dont think i COULD go without playing for three months..
got an acoustic? i'd think i'd be worth it.. whats the nature of the trip??
