to SJAG-3 or not to SJag-3? that is the question.

Hi I'm new here and have looked all through this forum and offsetguitars.com fourms as well and still havn't heard quite the question/answer I've been looking for.

So can any one tell me if the SJAG-3 1/4 pounder neck and bridge are really worth their weight in the bridge and neck position, I have a new 62' mia Jag and I just want to add a little more crunch with out it breaking up.

I also heard if you use the pickup covers and claws on the SJAG-2 and SJAG-3 it will cause massive feedback and a bad hum (atleast thet's what the guy on Harmonycenteral.com said.

Any info on this subject would be great

For the sound you want the QP is a good choice, it copes with distortion/overdrive well, it's noiseless and more punchy. You will also have no problems with using the claw again as long as you reconnect the grounds.
