Whose Your Favorite Jaguar or Jazzmaster guitar players?

Take a close look at the strings.. Its strung right handed, and there is no cord plugged in.

IMO, thats a photo shop job.., And a poor one at that....

There is in fact no chord plugged in, other than that, there is no fault with the picture.

It is strung left-handed, but with old black and white flash photos, the thinner strings look wider due to a greater reflective surface. The thicker strings appear dark and blend in with the shadows. Also, the strap is pretty obvious. He just hasn't moved the strap button. Inside the red circle, follow the green line:

I thought I would have received more feed back on this topic (picture), But guess not.

Here is another hint to the photo hoax.. Look at the proportion in size of the guitar, vs Hendrix. And why are his hands nowhwere in sight of the jag?

Cymaster, That Guitar is most certainly strung right handed. Light may play tricks on your eyes, but not mine... I been at this to long to be fooled by shadows.

What a wonderfully arrogant statement.

I'd just like to throw it out there: why would anyone fake a photo to make people think Hendrix played a Jaguar? 'Cause it's a pretty moot point anyway, I've seen actual *footage* (as well as photos such as this) of Hendrix playing both Jaguars and Jazzmasters.

You're right i saw that too, altough i don't remember in which video he plays a Jaguar. ☹

He also played a Duo-Sonic btw. (in chase some of you didn't knew that)

I can FINALLY choose a favourite Jazzy player.

Not someone who is even remotely associated with the Jazzmaster, but he played one VERY early in his career.

Ladies and gentlemen of the forum, may I present... FRANK ZAPPA !!!

Also, that controversial Hendrix picture... it is truly testament to his talent that he learned how to play with the guitar strung both left and right-handed. That's twice as many chord formations to remember.

I did not put that last post up to start a war, but to provoke a reaction. I meant nothing personal or offensive, perhaps my choice of wording could have been better. It seems that the post served the purpose I had in mind, To ressurect this thread.....

Richie, You are right. The subject of the pic is moot, but I had to have a go at it.

I have gone through over a 1000 Hendrix pics on the net. I have not found one with him wearing a Jag. I have seen pics (on stage) of him with Les Pauls, Flying V's, and saw a Gib SG Custom in a glass case with a brass plaque stating that it was owned by Hendrix.

The only Jag I saw was a vintage beat up sun burst axe propped in front of a flight case, and reputed to have been owned and played by Hendrix. There is no further documentation to confirm that though.

The problem is, i can't find the video where he plays a Jaguar anymore. ☹ (i'am still looking for it though)

However this video proves he did indeed use a Jazzmaster: (skip to 3:20, the guitar appears more in the DVD but at 3:20 you can see a good shot of it)
