Delay pedals

Im in the market for delays... my basic requirements are just that it have reverse abilities. Im leaning towards the DD-7 because of the expression pedal capabilities, but also the stereo memory man with hazarai because of all the options (chorus, filtration, and the ability to have delays become gradually louder, or stay the same volume, rather than standard feedback controls) also, how come there are no analog delays with reverse?

the dd-7 all the way, built like a brick, loads of options (including the a few from the DD-20 like the 'analog' mode which is my personal fav) and tap tempo. Boss are a safe bet with digital delays; ive always used a boss, had a dd-3 for years and upgraded to a dd-20 recently. they're ace. the new ehx things don't look too sturdy, and its better to have a master of one thing than a pedal that can make all sorts of 'cool sounds' but its ultimately of a lower quality. Oh and digitechs digidelay and marhsalls echohead are mightly impressive too...

I tried an Akai Headrush E2 today, was pretty cool. It's more of a loop station than a proper delay pedal though. The regular delay setting on it wouldn't warble when I messed with the rates, just kind of faded out, which was a bit odd and disappointing. It doesn't do reverse delay, also, so it wouldn't be much good to you. Just thought I'd mention it on the subject of delay pedals.

I wouldn't want their overdrives on my board, but they are solid enough and you can't go far wrong with digital delay: its just a signal being repeated; nothing should get in the way of how it does it, and for that the boss delays are as straight-forward as they come. Marshal have got a lot better recently and a lot of pros use their stompers; the echohead is a great cheap alternative to a boss and the digitech needs to be tried before being written off as 'just a digitech'; im sure a shop will stock all of these close by...
