tragictravisty sometimes I'll tune "sideways" - like EADGbBE or EADbGbBE or DGBEAD it makes it easy to find different chord shapes, etc. but without being completely confusing

I have several guitars tuned in different tunings. I find normal tuning to be boring at times, it's just to do something different really.
kieran-grunge i normally do drop d, standard, and on my crap guitar i have it tuned down 1 step (but i sometimes have it down 1/2 step or 1 1/2 steps instead along with the dropped variations (drop c, drop c#, drop 😎

Cymastar I write music in pretty weird tunings. The most common for me is GDF#GCE... I can get these really weird chords doing that...

Took me long enough the first time 😀thats actually a very genius tuning, i'll have to get some ernie ball 11-54's and try this on one of my guitars. its basically tuned in power chords, and then ending with a minor third.
Cymastar I LOVE THAT TUNINGMy Jagmaster was in that until I restrung it! It sounds so badass. Great for shoegazer music, IMHO. You can get some great swelling chords.
