Pre-Wired Assembies for the Jaguar

Does anyone make pre-wired pickguard assemblies for the Jaguar??

Would love to swap out pickups and electronics in my CIJ.

thanks. Actually they're both out of stock and I don't think they will fit a CIJ model.

Basically I want to swap out pickups and electronics (I seem to have tons of shielding issues with my Jaguar)

Thought it would be super easy to get one of those pre-wired pickguards like they have for the Strats and just drop it in...kill all those birds with one stone.

i dont think that there are prewired ones because not near as many people own jaguars as strats, so prewired assemblies would be less practical.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

I did find one for the jazzmaster, so I thought, why not one for the Jaguar too??

a complete drop-in set up isn't possible, as all the wiring that passes into the control, rhythm and switch cavities aren't open. You need to find someone who isn't an idiot to handle your wiring issues.

i was going to say what aug said but he beat me to it.

but just to say it again.

not possible, too many plates, and the wirese go thru the body at 4 points.

once at the rythm,

slider switches.

lead controls.

and the ground.

what year jag do you have?

it may just be your pups aren't that good.

Ahhhh, well THAT makes sense! That's too bad.

I have a 1997 CIJ Jag. It's a nice guitar, and I've been playing it more than my Tele...but the pickups are a little weak...especially the bridge. And the electronics are terrible. Make sooooo much noise.

could be a grounding wire issue. Does the noise stop when you touch the strings?

It's more when I'm adjusting the volume and tone roller switch for the neck pickup.

noise when adjusting the rhythm circuit? hmmm... I say pull it out and take a look. Look for anything obvious, loose wires, wires touching, cap leads touching other wires, etc...

pre-wired assemblies are impossible because unlike the strat, where it is one open cavity, on jags, the wires pass through "tunnels" between controll plates, etc. Get it? i mean that wires are going through holes in the wood, not above the wood. This is not the case for jazzmasters, which is why there are pre-wired assemblies for them. Also on the jazzmaster, there are not seperate control plates, etc.
