I think youse guys are misunderstanding me. I was referring to making so many changes to the Jaguar(or any guitar, for that matter), that it would make more sense to just purchase another guitar. God knows, I have no objections to modifying a guitar, but after so long, it just makes no sense.
With all that said, I may be jaded, because anytime I want something specific, I just make it. For example, I really love my Coral mustang, but I never use the tone knob or the 'out-of-phase' switches, and instead of modifying my mustang, I just built another. *shrug*

I made the neck I wanted, the body is stock and installed features that I wanted and deleted features that I didn't want. I'm hugely a single-coil type of guy, but really wanted just one guitar with a humbucker. I never use the tone control, so I got rid of that as well as the switches.
