new neck pickup

i want a change my jags neck pickup for something thicker and smoother (i played it next to my les paul thismorning and it sounded thin and bodyless compared to the pauls thick airy sound, though oddly my jags hotrails bring some distortions out better than the paul, more life and zang).

i was thinking some kind of doble stack dimarzio with good bass and mid response, it has to be single sized and splitable.

rail or stack? i loved the tonezone in a strat i played, but that was bridge position... might be too bassy at the neck. also, consider non-humbucking pickups, i know that duncan makes several variations on the original jag pups. whats the configuration gonna be with the splits if you go humbuckers?

i dont mind if they're rails or stacks and yeah i looked at the tone zone and it had the right stuff, but ive also thought that SD cool rails would be a good contrast to my hots.

i shouldn't worry about them being to bassy, i like bass, and the jag cleans up nicely as we all know.

when i say splits i just mean putting a pull push in place of the volume knob and shutting off probably the outer rail.

i think its cool, i found a seller on ebay selling a neck/middle cool rail for a good enough price with a free capo and fender strings.
