nice! i was of the understanding that even filed down it could not match the radius perfectly, but then again i have NO experience with that. what about string breakage? i mean with a non-roller, they must break easily, no? also, does the vibrato work well and stay in tune, since the bridge and sadles are stationary? if i were to do this i would do it with a roller bridge, but then the saddles might not be deep enough to keep the strings in... although a tuneomatic should increase string angle. can always ad a buzzstop too.
On the topic of shimming, how do you find the right hunk of wood? is it easy?
and on floyd roses, they are incredibly overrated. great if you'll be doing dive bombs all day, but otherwise... Although they do have a huge advantage other other vibratos (excluding the jag/jazzmaster) with the ability to do upbends.
