its a pretty common one for me lately, i came up with it to play

that fingering and its movable up and down the neck, power chords on the a string are still normal. but forget about open chords

I use standard tuning because it's the most versatile tuning and it's what I'm used. I'll use Drop D if I absolutely can't play a song in standard tuning, however whenever it's possible I'll transpose Drop D songs to Standard (to my ears strings with more tension on them sound better so I try and avoid dropping the tuning). I once played a song in Drop C, I remember being frustrated at trying to jam without retuning after I finished the song and being totally lost 😆.

i dont think its the most versatile at all. drop d is versatile. you can get two lower notes

I use standard and drop D mostly, and I often have my acoustic tuned to DADGAD, just cause it's awesome. I find DADGAD is better for writing on than standard for some reason.

standard is definitely the most versatile common tuning. barre chords are easier in standard than drop D.

Two slide tunings I use:

D A D f# a d (like drop D but kicks a** with slide)

E A C# e a c# (emulates a 12-string in some respects, especially if you pluck octaves)
